We are excited to announce Wiki Loves Folklore 2025, an international contest on Wikimedia Commons dedicated to capturing the beauty of folklore and intangible cultural heritage from around the world. Whether it’s vibrant folk festivals, traditional dances, soulful music, time-honoured culinary practices, unique attire, oral storytelling, or other cultural treasures, this is your chance to document and share the living heritage that unites us all.

How Can I Contribute?

It’s simple! Grab your camera, smartphone, or recording device, and start capturing photos, videos, or audio that tell the story of your local folklore. Once you’ve collected your media, head over to the Wiki Loves Folklore 2025 page and click on the Upload Now icon to submit your entry. Categories at the bottom

Hi! I can perhaps figure it out myself but asking is easier for me :-) When your bot is working does it group categories at the bottom? Or could it to that? Sometimes when I run my bot for something I end up creating a mess because the file page is not organized as expected. For example if catgories are not at the bottom but inside the information template. I once tried to make a cleanup but it seems to be impossible to make a script that can handle all variants. I also thought that perhaps we could make a cleanup with subst to make sure all information templates have all the relevant parameters in the right order but I also gave that up. But perhaps putting categories at the bottom is a good start :-) MGA73 (talk) 09:02, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

@Jeff G.: its a good script but it does not fix everything. For example I like files to have headings, an information template where the ='s are aligned like in File:Kufa Irak.PNG. Also I like the fields in the template to be in the same order on all files. And all standard fields should be there. FlickrReviewR 2 not seeing adult content

Based on the images in Category:Flickr images not found, it appears that User:FlickreviewR 2 does not have the ability to read images marked on Flickr as mature, and treats them as not found. There is a minor change from the original photo – the retouched license plate, as there aren't black (or dark blue) license plates in the country, where this car was made. I also consider the dark plate little bit distracting in the photo. This change was also consulted with the creator of the photo; he approved it.

I believe this little detail could not obfuscate Your review.

Hovewer, if You think that the photo has to be a direct copy of the Flickr file to be approved, please inform me about that.

Request for User:YiFeiBot to reprocess some files

Hi @Zhuyifei1999: ,

First, I wanted to thank you again for fixing User:YiFeiBot. I actually have a request somewhat related to that:

• As per Module talk:Size#Issue with P518 parameter (and also mentioned here) there was an edit which accidentally broke the Information template on several images (about 400 IIRC).
• The change has since been reverted and the images now seem to be back to normal.
  • Some examples include: File:Nicolae Grigorescu 035.jpg, File:Recueil d'estampes gravees 1771 (1102258).jpg and File:RECUEIL - D'estampes gravées - d'après les tableaux - du Cabinet de - Monseigneur le duc - DE CHOISEUL - par les soins du - Sr Basan - MDCCLXXI - bpt6k1518732h (182 of 280).jpg
• Unfortunately, because it was the Module behind the template that was fixed, YiFeiBot does not know that these images have been fixed. Would it be possible for YiFeiBot to re-process the images marked with Parsing errors after Revision #1179794875?
• It would help a lot if these did not have to be un-tagged manually.

2026-03-29 UPDATE: Right after emailing you I noticed that the issue returned, only there's fewer images in the category. Is there a way to have the bot notice fixes to scripting errors? Or perhaps not tag "pure" scripting errors? Since they already end up in the Category:Pages with script errors category? Sorry for the trouble. --Stux (talk) 15:57, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

CropTool bug

Hi, I'm fixing results of a CropTool bug, t.i. partial copy of source file Book template, resulting into Information template parsing error; usually both template name and Author parameter are lacking. Your bot sniffs the problem and it adds a Category:Pages using Information template with parsing errors.

Proposal: enhancing YiFeiBot

As you see into a recent topic into Village Pump, many (about 25-30%) from pages into Category:Pages using Information template with parsing errors come from a CropTool bug: when CroTool finds a tl!Book into source page, it fails to copy a good code into derived page, and copy lacks of first part on the template code.

As you can see from User:BrolloBot contributions, such mistake can be fixed.

Are you interested to enhance your bot, implementing the fix code of BrolloBot (or writing a better algorithm: I'm far from a decent coder.... )? Alex_brollo Talk|Contrib 07:55, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
